Sorry for the second post-skip of the week! I was occupied yesterday because Noah and I were driving from Atlanta to Virginia in a 26 foot moving truck! It was quite the adventure that my body is now paying for! The soreness is overwhelming – so I guess it’s a good thing that I have all of today to sit around and do nothing!
Today’s post is a nonfiction book that I’ve read. I don’t read nonfiction as much as fiction, but a book is a book nonetheless! Some of my favorite books have been nonfiction! The book I’ve chosen to share with you is extremely captivating, hilarious and a little sad too. It was made into a movie, but I was not impressed with it. Don’t see the movie….read the book! One of the most memorable books that I’ve read….
Running with Scissors by Augusten Burroughs
I love reading. Books always manage to take me to a place far away from here and I love having that escape. Unfortunately, I don’t read enough even though I have tons of books on my shelves that I have yet to read. I think one day I’ll try to read through all of them as a blog project. But my favorite book (so far) is The Perks of Being a Wallflower.
This book is such a good read. It is really emotional and makes you think, but it’s not too complicated. It also has some really great quotes; I will leave you with my favorite one.
“So I guess we are who we are for a lot of reasons. And maybe we’ll never know most of them. But even if we don’t have the power to choose where we come from, we can still choose where we go from there. We can still do things. And we can try to feel okay about them.”
